Birth is a sacred rite of passage, to be honored and enjoyed. With a little humor and an open heart, couples come together to relate physically and emotionally. We'll meditate, stretch, try laboring positions, and discuss some techniques to help you through an optimal birth day.

Saturday February 18, 1 – 4 PM
Explore cosmology and metaphysics of the universal field thru the guide of Shiva/Shakti Tantric Philosophy and the Universal Principles of Anusara Yoga. Layered onto this clear foundation of the Anusara Yoga methodology will be introduction the field of your energy matrix. You are a field, a matrix of matter and light. Increase your awareness and knowing of your own sacred field to take charge of your life, to live on purpose, day by day, moment by moment.

Mahabutas – The 5 Elements and You
Sunday February 19, 11 AM – 2 PM
There are 5 elemental building blocks of life. These 5 elements in combination make the matter of the universe, including your body. Explore these 5 elements (space, earth, water, fire and air) in your body on your yoga mat. Incorporate the Anusara Yoga Universal Principles of Alignment – which are built on the 5 element principle. Many conditions and issues can be healed and cleared by practicing yoga in a way that balances your elements.

Subtle Body Anatomy – The Nadis and The Chakras
Saturday March 17, 1 – 4 PM & Sunday March 18, 11 AM – 2 PM
Explore Your Rainbow Light Body. You are a matrix of light, a field of energy flow. Just like you learn about the physical body by studying anatomy – you can delve deeply into your subtle energy body. We will explore how Prana-Shakti manifests and dwells in you, animating and enlivening the body. The One light shines thru the prism of YOU and is refracted into bands of different frequencies of color and light. Chakra Theory and Nadi flow on and off the mat are the emphasis of this course.

The Knower and the Field : Your Sacred Space
Saturday April 20, 1 – 4 PM
The Bhagavad Gita (The Song of Life) illuminates the knower and the field. Come share some teachings from this ancient text infused with modern field theory for self-mastery and transformation. Increase your Awareness in your Sacred Space with Anusara Yoga, Sat Nam Rasayan Meditation and sound/vibrational healing tones.

Wednesday February 8th 1-3:30pm: The Psoas Release Party: Do you know where your ilio-psoas muscle is?? Do you know how much the healthy tone of your psoas muscle(s) impacts the quality of your life, health and happiness?!? The psoas muscle is directly implicated in nearly ALL low back and hip conditions including sciatica, sacro-iliac dysfunction, lumbar disc herniation, scoliosis, as well as digestive disorders, infertility issues and general feelings of health and well being. A tight psoas can even contribute to feelings of anxiety, worry and insomnia. In this playful and informative 2.5 hour class, Deb will offer experiential anatomy and therapeutic exercises to help you find your psoas muscle and bring it into healthy tone and alignment. Come prepared to make a total shift, body, mind and heart!!

Wednesday February 15th: 1-3:30pm: Partnering for Success!!: Are you a Yoga Teacher wanting to learn how to make effective, meaningful and enjoyable hands on adjustments? Are you a yoga student who wants to learn how to give and receive AWESOME hands on adjustments to experience much greater depth in your asana practice? Are you a friend who would like to share an enjoyable experience of giving and receiving with your partner, friend or companion? If any of these categories apply to you, then this class is a perfect place for you to be!! Please join us for this afternoon class of partnering for success, depth and enjoyment!! If you do not come with a partner, we will assign a partner to you in class. Come prepared to give and receive total enjoyment and fun!!

Wednesday's February 8 & 15th 5:30 - 7pm: Apana Vayu Refresher Course: Apana Vayu in Ayurveda is considered to be one of the key regulators of health, feelings of well being, security, grounded-ness, safety, trust and overall happiness. When Apana Vayu is healthy and balanced, we are able to digest and eliminate our foods; our physiological cycles are regulated and strong; we are able to go to sleep with ease; we are able to release worry and concern; we are able to move through our days with grounded focus and clarity. Disrupted Apana Vayu is implicated in all kinds of disorders from indigestion, insomnia, infertility, anxiety, depression, and many others. Winter is a key time that disrupts Apana Vayu, so it is a beautiful time to refresh and strengthen this downward moving air!!
For the two weeks that Deb will be teaching the Wednesday evening regularly scheduled evening mixed level classes will focus on strengthening and refreshing Apana Vayu. Join us!!

Deb has been a student of yoga since 1985. She has traveled the world receiving in-depth instruction in Hatha Yoga asana, pranayama and meditation from many renowned masters. In 1993, Deb met John Friend and began extensive study in Anusara. She was the 20th teacher to be certified in Anusara in 2001. Deb is known for her lively, dynamic and clear presentation of the principles of Anusara, and her commitment and dedication to the Yogic path. Deb now travels extensively offering the teachings with a joyful heart. |

HIP, HIP, HOORAY! Hip Opening Yoga Class: The hip joint is one of the largest and most versatile joints in the body. In yoga, the full range of motion of the hip is addressed and alignment of the hips brings freedom to our spine, knees, ankles and addresses our gait and posture. In this workshop, we will work on stabilizing and increasing mobility in all of the movement of the hips.

DYNAMIC TWISTS: We will explore moving dynamically using the deep core body to invite the musculoskeletal body to spread and open. You will gain a new perspective on twisting poses and practical principles of physical alignment and energetic flow.

WHY SHOULDER THE BURDEN?: The position of the shoulders have a profound effect on our breathing and sense of well-being. This workshop will focus on the neck, shoulders, arms and hands so that the arms can become the wings of the heart. Open to all levels and especially suited for anyone with shoulder or neck pain.
About Jenny Otto:
Jenny Otto, founder of Body Balance Yoga, is nationally known for her in-depth understanding of anatomy and therapeutics investigating the domains of functional rehabilitation, biomechanics and the nervous system. As an innovative and dedicated Yoga Teacher, a celebrated Yoga Therapist and Teacher Trainer, Jenny has been teaching and developing wellness/exercise programs in the greater Annapolis, Maryland area since 1980. The capacity to transmit movement information depends on a teacher's embodiment.
