Frequently Asked Questions
- I am new to yoga – where should I begin? What class do you recommend?
We offer several options for new students — Intro to Yoga Series, Yoga Fundamentals, Gentle and All Levels classes.
The Intro to Yoga Series is a great way to begin, to study in a community of like minded beginner students, and to receive a systematic and complete yoga experience over the 6 weeks.
Gentle Yoga classes are perfect for stress reduction, increasing comfort and flexibility in your body.
Yoga Fundamentals offers a detailed step by step approach and guidance thru the yoga practice.
Our All Levels classes are each a stand alone experience, everything you need to know will be presented in the context of the class.
- Flowforms offers the First Class Free for new students. Do I have to call ahead and sign up for my trial class?
Please feel free to show up to any of our weekly classes and try it out. We have room for you! You may phone us anytime to have specific questions answered; however no call ahead is necessary. All classes open to drop-ins.
- What do I need to bring? Do I need to bring my own mat?
We keep all the yoga equipment you might need during class (mat, straps, blocks, blankets and bolsters). If you do own your own mat and wish to bring it, please do. Most folks do end up purchasing their own mat for personal use at the studio and at home.
- What should I wear?
Comfortable, moveable clothing. Not too loose or too tight. Layers are good as you will warm up during the active part of the practice, and may like a sweatshirt or long sleeve for the cool down and relaxation. We ask you to remove your shoes when you enter the studio. Socks may be worn to keep toes warm, but will need to be removed for traction during standing poses.
- Where should I park?
Our panoramic lake view studio is located at 195 Lake Ave in Worcester, MA. While there is a small parking lot beside and behind the building, the closest parking is on either side of the street. Abundant on street parking is available, please do watch for the posted handicapped, no parking and bus stop signs.
- You have several kinds of yoga offered. What is the difference between the styles?
For an overview of yoga styles, see our Yoga Styles page.
- Do you take credit cards?
We do.
- What is the difference between Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced classes?
Beginner classes are designed for students in their first year or two of yoga practice. Each week a different aspect of yoga will be explored.
Intermediate & Advanced classes are geared toward experienced, injury-free yoga students who have mastered the basis of the practice and want to take it deeper and be pushed further. More advanced asanas will be offered, and more detailed alignment instruction given. Not appropriate for beginners.
- How will I know I am ready for Intermediate or Advanced classes?
You have a steady regular yoga practice and want to challenge yourself further. Any of the Flowforms instructors would be able to discuss the best place and classes for your individual needs.
