~I am new to yoga – where should I begin?
What class do you recommend?
We offer options for all abilities of new students --try The Intro To Well-Being Series.
Private Sessions are an option, too! This is for anyone who is just starting out, has some special individualized needs or would like privacy and individual attention to begin, support their yoga practice or develop a home-practice. A one-on-one session with an instructor is one hour. It can help you to move forward and make the most of your yoga.
What do I need to bring? Do I need to bring my own mat?
Yes, please bring your own mat. Yoga mats can be purchased locally at most department stores for $10-$20. It is good to have your own mat for personal use at the studio as well as at home. Mats need to be washed regularly. This can be done at home in your washer & dryer. Also, please bring a freshly washed towel or small blanket- you may want to cover bolsters and other props that you use during class.
We have equipment you might need such as straps, blocks, blankets and bolsters.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, movable clothing. Not too loose or too tight. Layers are good as you will warm up during the active part of the practice, and may like a sweatshirt or long sleeve for the cool down and relaxation. We ask you to remove your shoes when you enter the studio. Socks can be left on until you get on your mat. Socks may be worn to keep toes warm, but will need to be removed for traction during standing poses.
Where should I park?
Our charming Victorian carriage house studio is located at 100A June Street in Worcester, MA. There is a small parking lot in front of the building you are welcome to park in for free. The next closest free parking is on either side of the street. Abundant on street parking is available, please do watch for the posted handicapped, no parking and bus stop signs. Please leave plenty of room when parking near driveways of our neighbors.
Yoga is a personal journey for each body and soul. Many options will be presented in class so you can find a way to move that is just right for you!
We teach to who shows up in the room that day, so yoga is for everybody, all ages, abilities, body types and fitness levels.
Come down and try it for yourself!
